I would like to welcome everyone back to the start of a new school year in our beautiful and brand new school. I hope you all agree that the building is lovely and a fitting testimony to your children. The children all look beautiful in their new school uniforms and thank you for ensuring the children all look so smart.
I am aware that we are currently having a few 'teething' problems with accessing and leaving the building, but I hope that you will support us over the next week or two whilst we try and develop the best processes we can now that we have only one single point of access and lots more parents! One of the things we are going to trial is opening our gates onto the playground much earlier in the morning so that parents can come onto the playground and wait in a larger space. We would, however, like to remind parents that the children will remain your responsibility until they enter the school building and children must not be left unsupervised on the playground before school. We would also like to ask parents to keep to the left on the path to try and alleviate congestion.
At the end of the school day, we are also asking parents to 'spread out' if they can at the back of the playground so that staff can see parents much more easily and therefore dismiss children much more quickly.
Finally, I would like to reassure you that we have been in touch with the local authority regarding the walk into school from Morrison's in order to try and improve the area.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working with you all over the coming year.
