I have fifteen cards numbered .

I put down seven of them on the table in a row.

The numbers on the first two cards add to 15.

The numbers on the second and third cards add to 20.

The numbers on the third and fourth cards add to 23.

The numbers on the fourth and fifth cards add to 16.

The numbers on the fifth and sixth cards add to 18.

The numbers on the sixth and seventh cards add to 21.

What are my cards?

Can you find any other solutions?

How do you know you've found all the different solutions?

Loxdale Primary Cements Safety Initiative with Countryside

February 27, 2020

Bilston pupils were given the inside scoop on the workings of a live housing development by Countryside, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer, specialising in place making and regeneration, with a visit to its Stonefield Edge development at Bilston Urban Village.

Countryside welcomed more than 30 pupils, from Loxdale Primary School, for a tour of its Coseley Road housing development, providing the students with a closer look at the homes currently under construction, as well as the safety procedures in place.

During their visit, the pupils engaged in a Q&A session with Countryside’s construction team, before enjoying an interactive tour of the site, via designated paths. The tour aimed to teach the children how to identify hazards, whilst providing crucial information on staying safe around construction sites.

Adam Daniels, Regional Operations Director, Partnerships West Midlands, Countryside, commented: “We’re pleased to have welcomed Loxdale Primary School to our Stonefield Edge development. We always strive to be good neighbours and the safety of the local community is a key priority throughout the duration of our time on site. So, this was a great opportunity for us to teach the children about not only the in-depth safety procedures that Countryside follows, but also how they can stay safe when living near a live construction site.”

Patricia Scott, Headteacher at Loxdale Primary School, commented: “The visit to Stonefield Edge was a brilliant experience for all our pupils. Not only did it provide them with important information about staying safe around building sites, but they also got an exciting inside look into how a building site works. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the trip and we’re confident that they came away with valuable safety knowledge.”

Stonefield Edge forms parts of the wider multi-million pound regeneration initiative for the area, which will bring a variety of residential, retail and leisure facilities into the community. The three and four bedroom homes are available to reserve from £219,995 through a number of home buying initiatives, such as the Help to Buy scheme.

For more information about the new homes at Stonefield Edge go to www.stonefieldedge.co.uk or visit the sales office at Stonefield Edge, Coseley Road, Bilston WV14 0RT.

Safer Internet Day

February 12, 2020

Following safer internet day on Tuesday, where we discovered lots about our identity in 'real life' and online (and how they can be so different), we were lucky enough to see our knowledge in action today thanks to the Saltmine Theatre Company! As you can see from the pictures of the performance, the show was hilarious and had us all in fits of laughter! However, the serious message from the performance is what we will all take home with us...Sarah, an innocent 11 year old girl, who wanted to explore her local forest, was lured in to Wilf's (the wolf's) grasp and very nearly got her self into lots of danger! Luckily, Sarah remembered the third rule that her mother gave her - shout for a trusted adult when you're in trouble! Even through Sarah veered off the safety path and gave away personal details to Wilf (which made it easy for him to find her and manipulate her), her trusted adult (Mom) was able to help when Sarah called for her. It's important to know that Sarah's Mom set the rules to make sure that Sarah was safe, but in her time of need, would not be angry, but instead help her, protect her, and let her know that it is not her fault that she got into a sticky and dangerous situation!

After the thrilling performance, we discussed how to keep ourselves on the path of safety whilst using the internet and the steps we might need to take if there ever comes a time that we veer off that path. We have been able to see first hand how our decisions about how we handle things online can impact others and keep them safe too!

Remember the rules:

1. Do not leave the path of safety!

2. Do not give out any personal details!

3. If in doubt, shout for a trusted adult!

and last but not least...

4. HAVE FUN!

Children in Need

November 20, 2019

To raise money and awareness for BBC Children in Need, we came to school in our sports wear and took part in 'The Big Morning Move' hosted by Joe Wicks!

It was tiring but we all managed to complete it. As well as this, as a school we held 'The Great Loxdale Bake-off'. We all had the opportunity to take part, we had to bake cakes at home and then bring them in to be judged.

Luckily, we all then were able to buy cakes in the bake sale after school. One of the children in Year 5 won the 'Disney' category with her entry.

Well done Year 5!
