Year 1 Ash - Home Learning

July 01, 2020

Ciara from Year 1 Ash has been enjoying doing the science plants unit, with wellies and homemade binoculars at the ready she went for a walk to Penn common.

She jumped in muddy puddles, looked at the different trees, insects and wild flowers, and she also stopped to buy fresh chicken and duck eggs from a friendly farmer!

She then went to nanny’s and helped to cook a tasty omelette which she really enjoyed.

Habitat

June 30, 2020

Children in Violet Bubble have been learning about habitats with the help of Steve Brackshall, our super explorer! They have researched different habitats on an iPad and found images to discuss and draw from. Scarlett wanted to find out what the biggest rainforest in the world is and Kian enjoyed finding out about all the animals that live in the woodland. We even had the chance to compare a polar bear and a brown bear!

Well done, Violet Bubble!

Statues

June 29, 2020

Please can you check out your class handouts page for the latest picture news home learning activities all about 'Statues'.

Following protests campaigning for Black Lives Matter, demonstrators in Bristol pulled down a statue of a former slave trader, Edward Colston, and threw it into the harbour. It is likely that the statue will now be placed in a museum. Many other famous statues have been in question in other parts of the UK, with issues regarding what they represent and if they should be given prominent positions in towns and cities.
