Yesterday, Year 2 became bird experts as they investigated how different bird beaks are adapted for collecting food. Using tweezers, pegs and spoons to represent different types of beaks, the children worked hard to pick up rice and pom poms, discovering which "beaks" were best suited to different foods. The children made predictions, tested their ideas and discussed their findings like real scientists. They were fascinated to see how the shape and size of a bird's beak can help it survive in its habitat! Take a look here!
