Year 2 Oak had a wonderful time at our Christmas party. We played pass the parcel, had party snacks, met Santa and had a little Christmas boogie. Take a look at some of the fun we had.

We are so proud of our amazing Year 2 children! 💖 You filled the hall with joy, laughter, and the true spirit of Christmas. Every smile, every song, every little moment was magical. Thank you for coming to join us. And a special mention to our lost sheep, we couldn’t of finished the nativity without you.🌟🎄

What an unforgettable time we had on our residential! From clay making and peg orienteering to exploring the natural world, every moment was packed with fun and learning. And when the sun went down, we enjoyed a cosy movie night with hot chocolate before heading to bed. 🍫🎬It was an amazing experience. Check out the highlights below!

🥤 Our DT project was a hit! The children planned, chopped, blended and tasted their own fruit smoothies 🍓🍌🥭 — all while practising hygiene and teamwork. Healthy, fun, and delicious! 🌟

This week, during our history lessons about Amelia Earhart, Year 2 had a very special visitor! Mrs Gallagher joined us to share her incredible experience as an eyewitness to Amelia’s plane landing in Northern Ireland. The children were fascinated to hear her stories and learn more about this historic moment. A huge thank you to Mrs Gallagher for taking the time to come in and bring history to life for us!

On Tuesday, Year 2 Oak learnt about remembrance. We looked at why remembrance day happens and the why poppies are a sign of remembrance. To consolidate our learning we created our own poppy wreaths.

Year 2 Oak had a fantastic afternoon learning and celebrating Diwali. We looked at why Diwali is celebrated and then looked at how diya lamps are used to support the celebration. We then made our diya lamps in many different ways. To end our celebrations we got to taste a samosa, it was delicious! 🪔🎆
