The children enjoyed trying out each of our fun handwriting characters: 🦎 Lizard, 🦁 Stone Lion, 🐧 Penguin, 🐻 Bear and 🦦 Meerkat. These different positions help us think about our posture, pencil grip and how we can be comfortable and focused when writing. Year 5 Pine showed fantastic enthusiasm as they practised each position and discussed which one will help them produce their neatest handwriting. In Art, Year 5 Pine have been exploring how different types of lines can be used to convey movement and emotion. This week, the children created artwork inspired by Charlie Mackesy, recreating their own memories through the use of expressive gestural lines. Using felt-tip pens and water to create a range of effects, the children produced thoughtful and visually striking pieces that reflected both their creativity and personal experiences.

Year 5 Pine have been making some wonderful music this afternoon! 🎼 The children have been exploring musical dynamics, learning how to use crescendo to gradually get louder, diminuendo to gradually get quieter, and forte to play with a strong, loud sound. 🔊🎵 It was fantastic to see everyone listening carefully, working together and putting their new musical vocabulary into practice. Well done, Year 5 Pine!
