Yesterday, Year 1 Ash had a fantastic art lesson inspired by the vibrant and imaginative work of designer Clarice Cliff and her famous Bizarre Ware! 🟠🔵🌈 The children explored Cliff’s bold patterns, bright colours, and quirky shapes before creating their own wonderfully “bizarre” designs. From swirling landscapes to eye-catching geometric patterns, their creativity absolutely shone! 🎨💡

This week, Year 1 Ash have been superstars exploring how to look after our minds and how to stay safe online 💛💻 ✨ We talked about what makes our Mental Jars feel full ✨ We created our own Mind Ponds ✨ We also celebrated how humans are all wonderfully different , and how we can use our voices to ask for help, share ideas, and show kindness — even when we’re talking to voice assistants ! ✨ And of course, we learned the importance of being safe online and knowing what to do

Yesterday, Year 1 Ash had an absolutely magical Christmas party!The children enjoyed a festive afternoon filled with tasty snacks, lots of dancing at our Christmas disco, and a very special visit from Santa himself! 🎁🎉 Smiles, laughter, and Christmas cheer all around ❤️

This week in PSHE, our Year 1 Ash learners have been exploring ways to look after their minds and bodies! 🧠💪 ✨ What we’ve learned: ✅ Why sleep is so important for feeling happy and healthy ✅ How to calm ourselves when we feel worried ✅ Simple muscle relaxation techniques ✅ The amazing benefits of laughter for our wellbeing We’ve had lots of fun practising these skills together – and there were plenty of giggles along the way! 😄 💬 Ask your child to show you their favourite

Today was all about Christmas Jumper Day – and wow, did Year 1 Ash bring the sparkle! From jingling bells to cheeky elves, our jumpers were brighter than the Christmas lights. 🌟 After showing off our festive fashion, we sat down for a Christmas lunch feast – turkey, roasties, and even sprouts (yes, some brave little elves gave them a try! 🥦). The classroom was filled with laughter, full tummies, and plenty of cheer. What a magical way to kick off December! 🎄💫

This morning, our little tour guides took us on a whistle-stop journey through the capital, sharing amazing facts about famous landmarks like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower Bridge. What a brilliant way to bring learning to life! 🌟

In Year 1 Ash this week, we have been busy celebrating Diwali. We carefully planned and created Diya lamps using salt dough, learned the story of Rama and Sita, and even taste-tested samosas. Ask us questions about what we’ve been up to this week!

Year 1 Ash won the attendance clash last week, which means we got the chance to go to the vending machine! Our special treat for the day is a mini disco - a great way to finish off the week in Ash Class.
