Happy World Book Day! Have a look at some of the fun Year 3 got up to on World book day this year! The children took part in lots of activities around the book 'The Worst Witch' as well as reading to Nursery!

This week in art Year 3 have made the most of the great weather and taken their learning outside of the classroom. The children had to use their shape knowledge to find shapes in our outdoor environment to then help them with their drawings.

Year 2 Sycamore had a fantastic World Book Day! They enjoyed making Paddington's Marmalade sandwiches, exploring Hundred Acre Wood, building baby bear's chair and even enjoying adventures in space!

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating our love of reading today. The children threw themselves into a range of fun activities inspired by The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood — from storytelling and crafts to role‑play and problem‑solving adventures! Their enthusiasm, creativity, and joy made the day truly special. Year 5 Pine have enjoyed celebrating World Book Day by taking part in a range of activities throughout the day inspired by different books. We also loved sharing some of our favourite stories with Year 2.

Year 4 had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day! The children came to school dressed in their comfiest pyjamas and some fantastic book-themed costumes. We loved seeing everyone’s creativity and the excitement they brought to the day. Throughout the morning, the class enjoyed sharing their favourite stories, talking about the characters they love, and taking part in fun activities. It was wonderful to see how much joy books can bring! Well done, Year 4, for making World

Year 5 Pine have had a fantastic day with Mr Aston completing history, literacy and DT activities through the use of Minecraft Education and Freeform. Ask us all about the Tudor World that we have created.

As a reminder, tomorrow (Thursday 5th March) is World Book Day! Everyone is invited to come to school dressed in their PJs or something comfy for a cozy day of reading ❤️📚 Everyone also has the option of coming to school dressed as a book character if you prefer.

This morning, Year 4 took part in a science workshop with Professor Nebular. The children participated in some fun little experiments all about 'States of Matter'. Ask them all about it!

Well done to our Y6 children who entered the CLL Wildlife Photography Writing competition, after attending a workshop alongside many other schools.    All of their entries were amazing and made it very difficult for the judges.  Each entry was rewarded with a certificate and some lovely inspiring words, encouraging them all to continue to write. A very special well done to Grace from Y6 Poplar, who was our school winner and will receive a certificate and a £5 voucher.   Well

We have had a very exciting week in Reception this week. Our local PCSO in and spoke to us about the role of the police. We enjoyed asking lot's of questions about their job and loved trying on their uniform. Take a look at us.

This afternoon, Reception had a fantastic visit from our local Community Support Officer! The children loved learning all about the important role they play in keeping our community safe. There were lots of smiles and excitement as the children got to  try on real police uniform  — definitely a highlight of the day! 👕🚓 A big thank you to our officer for taking the time to visit us. What a wonderful experience for our little learners!

Year 3 have been looking at food packaging and designing their own nets in D&T.

Year 5 Pine have developed their portraits this week, experimenting with materials and techniques. Some excellent art work, Year 5! Well done!

Year 4 Spruce won a token to the vending machine as they were the winning class in the attendance battle last week. They won a board game afternoon. Attendance matters!

🍪 Year 4 Spruce turned into star bakers yesterday. They had great fun sieving flour, mixing ingredients, and combining everything to make delicious biscuits. Lots of teamwork, smiles, and a sprinkle of flour everywhere! 👏✨

As a reminder, we break up for half term tomorrow (Friday 13th February). We then have an INSET Day on 23rd February, so we’re looking forward to welcoming children back to school on Tuesday 24th February. We hope all of you will enjoy a lovely half term holiday, we can’t wait to hear about what you got up to! ❤️

What a fun last week we have had in Reception Willow before the half term. We have been celebrating Valentine's day and have had lots of fun themed activities. We have also been working on our physical development and had a game of class bowling. We have had lots of fun. Have a lovely half term.

Yesterday, Year 4 Rowan rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the world of baking! The classroom was filled with excitement (and a lovely sweet smell!) as the children worked together to make their very own biscuits. They started by weighing out their ingredients carefully, making sure everything was measured just right. Next came the sifting—a messy but very fun moment as flour floated like tiny snowflakes! Then it was time for mixing and the children showed brilliant tea

This week, Year 1 Ash have been superstars exploring how to look after our minds  and how to stay safe online  💛💻 ✨ We talked about what makes our Mental Jars  feel full ✨ We created our own Mind Ponds ✨ We also celebrated how humans are all wonderfully different , and how we can use our voices to ask for help, share ideas, and show kindness — even when we’re talking to voice assistants ! ✨ And of course, we learned the importance of being safe online and knowing what to do

This term during P.E both of our year 5 classes have been choreographing and practicing their own dances to "The greatest show" from The greatest showman musical film. As part of their dance topic. They have all shown incredible creativity, teamwork and communication! We are very proud of how well they have done, we enjoyed watching their final performance this week! Well done to all of year 5!
