We are so proud of Year 5 Pine's incredible effort in their Textiles DT unit! The children designed their own stuffed toys, practised running stitch, cross stitch and blanket stitch, then used these skills to create their final products! Their creativity and determination have truly shone through. Well done, Year 5 Pine - a fantastic end to Year 5 DT! 🧵🪡✨

This week in Art the children have enjoyed learning how to wool wrap! They have used different colours and found they needed to helped each other as this was a little bit tricky! Well done Elm, you all showed super resilience.

Monday 13th July - Friday 17th July NON-UNIFORM WEEK DETAILS Next week, all children are invited to wear their own clothes to school for the whole week! What an incredible show of talent, confidence and creativity at Loxdale's Got Talent! 🎤🎭💃🎶 We were amazed by every single performance and so proud of all the children who took part. It takes courage to step onto a stage and share your talents with others, and every participant did just that with enthusiasm and determination. Year 5 Pine had an exciting afternoon as they began the planning process for their final Design and Technology project of the year. They have come up with some fantastic ideas for creating their own stuffed toys in textiles, and we can't wait to see their designs and creativity brought to life!

Our Reception children were very excited this morning as they finally got to dig up the vegetables they planted and nurtured earlier in the year. They carefully searched through the soil and were delighted to discover how much their vegetables had grown! The children enjoyed talking about the changes they had observed, recalling what plants need to grow, and celebrating the results of all their hard work and patience. Pine have been learning about reproduction in plants. During their science lesson, they carefully dissected a flower to identify the male and female reproductive parts and understand how plants reproduce.

This week in History, Year 3 have looked at what the Ancient Egyptians believed about the after life. They explored the process of mummification and even had a go at mummifying their own tomato. Ask them all about it!

Today we have started to think about problem solving! We have used the shaped to make a picture and then work out the parts and whole by putting them on the bar model. Well done everyone!

Keeping cool on French Day! Key Stage 2 have taken part in a French scavenger hunt and earned their bonus cards by completing water challenges! Well done, Key Stage 2!

Our Year 2 children had a magnifique time celebrating French Day, enjoying French activities, food and language learning—très bien, Year 2! ✨

Year 3 Beech have had a fantastic French day! The children have explored French geography, built the Eiffel Tower with spaghetti, played French games, played the glockenspiels and even tried French foods! Take a look here!🇫🇷🥖

Elm had a fantastic time at sports day. Everyone tried their best and enjoyed all the track and field events! The sprint final was nail biting! Well done to all of Elm!

Year 5 Pine have been working hard to improve the use of cohesive devices in their writing by completing a trio write. They have each been given different roles in the writing process and had the opportunity to take ownership of each of these roles in turn. Well done, Year 5, some fantastic team work and writing outcomes!

What a fantastic day we have had in Reception celebrating music day. We got to take part in a lot of activities and had a fun filled day listening to and learning lots of music.

Year 4 had a brilliant time celebrating World Music Day! In the morning, the children took part in a fun drum lesson with Sarah followed by a day of creativity. Inspired by a fantastic lesson, the children then created their own bands, wrote lyrics and performed their very own songs. What a fantastic day had by all! Year 5 Pine have had a POPtastic day! We have taken part in an African Drumming workshop, pop quiz, Battle of the Bands, festival competition and made pop appraisals to decide who they would assign to their record label! Well Done Pine!
