Year 5 enjoyed their visit from our very own Super Space Scientist, Rhyder, yesterday afternoon. Rhyder loves everything Space and has been working hard to create a presentation for Year 5, in order to kick start their new science unit. Well done, Rhyder, from all of Year 5!

Year 5 enjoyed their movie afternoon that was won out the vending machine for their attendance. This included popcorn and some children also decorated the Christmas tree.

Our wonderful partners from catch22 are holding 2 free online parent and carers webinars around County Lines and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE). This session is aimed at parent/carers (including foster carers/grandparents) to gain a understanding on the important issues surrounding county lines, as well as the impact that it can have on young people and their families, and the support that is available to young people who are impacted/suffering from County Lines and Crimin

This morning, our little tour guides took us on a whistle-stop journey through the capital, sharing amazing facts about famous landmarks like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower Bridge. What a brilliant way to bring learning to life! 🌟

What an unforgettable time we had on our residential! From clay making and peg orienteering to exploring the natural world, every moment was packed with fun and learning. And when the sun went down, we enjoyed a cosy movie night with hot chocolate before heading to bed. 🍫🎬It was an amazing experience. Check out the highlights below!

Year 5 have worked so hard to develop their drawn ideas through printmaking. Their results have blown us away! Well done!

This week Y2 Sycamore won the attendance battle, we got to pick something from the vending machine. Look what we won! We have all had hot chocolate and a film this afternoon which has been a fantastic way to end a great week! Well done Year 2 keep up the great work!

Yesterday, Year 4 Spruce had a fantastic opportunity to step into the future with Virtual Reality Headsets! The children were able to explore the rainforest and various animals through virtual reality. The interactive experience sparked curiosity, creativity and lots of smiles. It was wonderful to see them learning in such an engaging and immersive way. Thank you to Mr Ashton who led the session, the children thoroughly enjoyed it.

🥤 Our DT project was a hit! The children planned, chopped, blended and tasted their own fruit smoothies 🍓🍌🥭 — all while practising hygiene and teamwork. Healthy, fun, and delicious! 🌟

Mrs Flitcroft enjoyed her annual visit to St Leonard’s Church today to decorate Loxdale Primary School’s tree for the Christmas Tree Festival. Don’t forget — the Bilston Light Switch-On event is tomorrow, and you can vote for our tree! Loxdale Choir will also be performing some wonderful Christmas songs to spread festive cheer at 1pm. We’d love to see as many of you there as possible — your support would mean so much to us! 🎅🎄.

Today in maths, Year 4 Rowan explored perimeter! The children used pieces of string to measure and compare the perimeter of different shapes. It was fantastic to see them predicting, measuring, and checking their ideas!

On Monday 10th November, our choir attended the 35th Diversity Celebration event at The Halls in Wolverhampton, where they took to the stage and performed "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten in front of an audience of over 2,000 people! The choir did Loxdale proud—as they always do—with their outstanding performance, impeccable behaviour, and positive attitude throughout the event. A huge thank you to all our parents and carers who came along; your support means the world to us! A

WOW! What a busy week Year 3 have had. Last Friday, we celebrated Rockstar Day and all came dressed as rockstars to promote our times tables. This week has been Anti-Bullying Week, during which we wore odd socks and learnt all about how we can tackle bullying at Loxdale. Finally, we celebrated Children in Need! Year 1 Elm loved learning all about Children in Need today. They also had lots of fun designing a new scarf for Pudsey Bear!

Nursery PM also had a fantastic time celebrating Children in Need today! We created Pudsey Bear collages, shaped Pudsey with playdough, designed an exciting train journey for our mini Pudsey bears, and practiced our colouring skills. We had so much fun!

Next Friday (21st November), children are invited to come to school in their own clothes! In exchange, we’re kindly asking if children could bring in a donation of chocolate on the day.

Year 6 have shown incredible support for Children in Need today! They arrived at school wearing their Pudsey T-shirts and cosy pyjamas, and this afternoon they showcased their creativity by designing their own T-shirts with some amazing artwork.

This week, during our history lessons about Amelia Earhart, Year 2 had a very special visitor! Mrs Gallagher joined us to share her incredible experience as an eyewitness to Amelia’s plane landing in Northern Ireland. The children were fascinated to hear her stories and learn more about this historic moment. A huge thank you to Mrs Gallagher for taking the time to come in and bring history to life for us!

We are having a fantastic day in year 2 Sycamore for children in need today.  We have started our day with making Pudsey ear hats, don't they all look great!

On Tuesday, Year 2 Oak learnt about remembrance. We looked at why remembrance day happens and the why poppies are a sign of remembrance. To consolidate our learning we created our own poppy wreaths.

This week we celebrated Nursery Rhyme Week! We enjoyed a variety of nursery rhyme themed activities, including building a wall with construction materials for Humpty Dumpty, learning numbers up to 5 with our "Five Little Speckled Frogs," baking five currant buns in our roleplay bakery shop, and singing "The Wheels on the Bus" in our new transport area. It's been a fantastic week full of fun and learning!
